The ABQ BioPark is actively working to be more sustainable and climate resilient. Promoting employee engagement in these efforts is an important aspect of the ABQ BioPark success in implementing the goals of its Climate Action Plan.
Recent Efforts
Conservation Committee
The Conservation Committee is a staff and volunteer-led group established in 2025 to encourage and facilitate conservation and sustainability projects and communications across the BioPark. This group plays a key role in the implementation of our Climate Action Plan, working drive internal awareness and buy-in around the BioPark’s plan, goals and targets while tactically executing projects aimed at advancing the objectives of the CAP.
People Pillar
The People Pillar serves as an active, staff-led group focused on facilitating employee engagement. Members of this team drive initiatives aimed at cultivating positive staff well-being and are working to align its actions with the goals of the Climate Action Plan. For example, the People Pillar has already taken steps to assess active commuting support options for staff as a climate action strategy.
